On November 15, 2023, Clarivate Analytics announced the list of "Highly Cited Researchers" for the year 2023. A total of 6,849 scientists from more than 1,300 institutions in 67 countries and regions worldwide were selected for the 2023 list. Mainland China had a total of 1,275 individuals selected, maintaining its position as the second highest globally.

Among them, 12 scientists from Chongqing University were included in the 2023 list of highly cited scientists, including Professor Hu Xiaosong from the Vehicle Power System team at Chongqing University. This marks Professor Hu Xiaosong's fifth consecutive year of being included in Clarivate Analytics' "Highly Cited Researchers" list (2019-2023).
