Constructing a Photocatalyst for Selective Oxidation of Benzyl Alcohol to Benzaldehyde by Photo-Fenton-like Catalysis

A new photoactive Cu(Ι)W–DPNDI was assembled from photosensitizer DPNDI, Cu(I) and [P₂W₁₈O₆₂]^6–, which possesses a stable structure, strong light absorption capacity, suitable band gap, and photoelectric properties. It displayed a high selectivity for oxidation of aromatic alcohols to aldehydes by coupling photocatalysis and heterogeneous Fenton-like catalysis.
