主要从事海洋微生物资源利用及藻类降解细菌的相关研究，在藻类降解细菌的筛选、功能分析、分类鉴定、酶学性质检测、基因组学等研究上开展了大量的工作，以第一作者或共同通讯作者在Appl Environ Microb等期刊上发表SCI论文10余篇，主持或参与了国家自然科学基金、浙江省自然科学基金、中国博士后基金等项目。
