On June 3, Nature officially published the latest research result "Design of robust superhydrophobic surfaces" jointly acquired by my team and the research team of Aalto University, Finland, and it was selected as the cover of the current issue. In this work, the coupling mechanism is proposed to split the surface wettability and mechanical stability into two different structural scales, and by self-optimal design on the two structural scales, a microstructural armor with excellent mechanical stability is created for the superhydrophobic surface, thus solving the key problem of insufficient mechanical stability of the superhydrophobic surface.
