Prof. Xu Deng from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China has been awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation presents approximately 20 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Awards annually to internationally renowned academics from abroad in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments in research. Winners of the Bessel Award receive €45,000 and are invited to spend a period collaborating on a long-term research project with specialist colleagues at a research institution in Germany. Xu will visit Prof. Dr. Hans-Jürgen Butt, The director of Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research to work on a research project that explores the physical chemistry at the interface.
