Direct laser deposited (DLDed) titanium alloy components have attracted great interests in aerospace industry due to its capability of manufacturing large components comparing with other additive manufacturing techniques. However, the presence of columnar prior-β grains along with the potential formation of grain boundary α can cause large mechanical property anisotropy and low strength. A systematic study is carried out in MCAM to investigate into the formation of ‘un-designed’ microstructures and the potential solutions to achieve the designed microstructures. The investigation shows that an improper post heat treatment could cause abnormal growth of grain boundary α phase, which could certainly make detrimental influence on the mechanical properties. Composition modification, along with an innovative hybrid manufacturing approach, is fully investigated and has shown great potential to modify the microstructures of DLDed titanium alloys, which will lead to a more balanced mechanical performance.

张恺,博士,2011 年获得中南大学材料科学与工程学士学位,并于 2015 年获得蒙纳士大学工程博士学位。目前在上海理工大学增材制造研究院担任特聘副教授,同时兼任蒙纳士大学增材制造中心博士后研究员,在增材制造钛合金微观组织细化与增材制造钢与铝合金加工方面开展了大量研究。他带领研究团队完成并交付了多项增材制造金属材料的开发项目以及成果零件,承担多项包括澳大利亚研究理事会子课题,欧洲宇航局探索课题等多个项目,在SCI期刊上发表了15篇文章,同时在国际知名材料会议做过多次邀请报告。
