最近活动

加强气候科学研究和教育:开设了一门短期技术课程,名为“亚洲季风系统的重建:新方法和新技术”,2016年10月在印度坎普尔理工学院(IITK)举行。该课程是在全球学术网络倡议(GIAN)的支持下开设的,该项目是印度政府的一项倡议,旨在将国际专家带到印度的地方机构,以促进研究和合作。来自印度各地的30多名博士、博士后和早期职业科学家参加了该课程。时间序列与高级定量分析:利用2017年3月的休假时间,在中国西安交通大学全球变化研究所设计并开展了“古气候记录的时间序列分析”短期课程。课程开发:开设了《全球变化》和《地球科学大构想》两门高水平本科课程。

Recent Synergistic Activities

Enhancing Climate Science Research and Education: I conducted a short technical course entitled

“Reconstruction of Asian Monsoon System: New Approaches and techniques’ on at the Indian Institute of  Technology Kanpur (IITK) in October, 2016. The course was offered under the aegis of Global Initiative  of Academic Networks (GIAN)—a government of India initiative to bring international experts to local  institutions in India to promote research and collaboration. The course was attended by more than 30 Ph.D,  postdoctoral, and early career scientists from all over India. Time Series and Advanced Quantitative Analysis: Designed and conducted a short course on “Time series Analysis of Paleoclimate Records” at Institute of Global Change, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China as a part of my sabbatical in March 2017.Curriculum Development: Developed two advanced level undergraduate courses in ‘Global Change’ and ‘Big Ideas in Earth Science’.
