Muhammad Shemyal Nisar received the B.Eng. (Hons) degree from University of Bradford, Bradford, UK, in 2008, followed by MSc from University of Nottingham, UK and the Ph.D. degree in optical engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at State Key Laboratory of Bioelectronics, School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China. This was followed by another postdoctoral experience from 2019 to 2021 at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China and a Senior researcher at Shanghai Jiaotong University - Pinghu Institute of Intelligent Optoelectronics. He is currently working as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at Sino-British College of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. His research interests include Nanophotonic devices, and analog and neuromorphic computation.
