ISIAQ Announces Seven New Board Members
The International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate (ISIAQ) is pleased to announce the appointment of seven new members of the Board of Directors. The seven new members include three new voting members, a student representative, the President of the Academy of Fellows, and two Trustees.
“Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of distinguished individuals with diverse perspectives, skills and areas of expertise, and are committed to providing healthy, sustainable, comfortable, and productivity-encouraging indoor environments,” said Ying Xu, President of ISIAQ. “We are excited to bring in the talents, expertise and energy of our new Board members to advance our mission.”
Kerry Kinney, President-Elect, is Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering and a member of the Building Energy and Environments group at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds an appointment in the Department of Population Health at Dell Medical School. Her cross-disciplinary research in environmental engineering centers on the investigation of human exposure to biological and chemical contaminants in the built environment.
Qihong Deng, Vice President, Practice, is Chair Professor and Deputy Dean of Zhengzhou University School of Public Health in China. His area of research focuses on the interdisciplinary study of health risks caused by indoor/outdoor air pollution and global warming, aiming to build comfortable and healthy buildings/cities.
Weiwei Liu, Treasurer-Elect, is the Director of building environment comfort and safety institute at Central South University (CSU), China. His research focuses on the effects of thermal environment on human thermal comfort and cognitive performance.
Rita Lam, Student Representative, is a second year Master of Applied Science student at University of British Columbia, Okanagan, Canada. Her main research project investigated how Indoor light, modulated by a newly developed smart window, affects the viability of indoor pathogens on different surface materials, and the applicability of these smart windows in the hospital settings and how they can affect the indoor microbiome dynamics.
Yinping Zhang, President of the Academy of Fellows, is Professor, Department of Building Sciences, Tsinghua University, China. His research and teaching interests center on indoor air quality, energy conservation through energy storage for buildings, and heat and mass transfer in the built environment.
Nadia Boschi, Trustee, is Head of Sustainability Italy & Continental Europe Lendlease and currently also Ambassador of the World Green Building Council’s Building Life policy campaign. She previously served the Society as its Secretary (2000-2003) and its President (2003-2006).
Chungyoon Chun, Trustee, is Professor in the Department of Interior Architecture and Built Environment, Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. She served as a Vice President for International Society of Indoor Air Quality and Climate from 2016 to 2020.
