On September 11, 2020, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Qingdao University announced the list of projects for the 2020 National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program (Da chuang), led by Qihui Zhou, head of the BMTM research group Two projects jointly directed by the teacher and Deng Jing, dean of the School of Stomatology (Figure 1): "Aptamer-modified protein-gold nanosensor for specific detection of E. coli in sepsis" (Figure 2 ) and "Multifunctional Upconversion Nanoparticles for Photodynamic Therapy and Imaging Integration of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma" (Figure 3), both won the national project. The undergraduate students of the BMTM research group have achieved such excellent results on the first application, which is inseparable from the unity and cooperation of the project leader and team members and the patient guidance of the teacher.

The research group attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' ability in innovation and entrepreneurship, and provides full support and guarantee for the students in the research group from many aspects such as topic selection, experimental design and funding. Since the "Pre-notice on the Application for the Establishment of the 2020 College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Plan" was issued, the research group actively encouraged the undergraduate students of the team to exert their creativity and innovative spirit to participate in this competition. Special thanks to the School of Stomatology for its rigorous and fair defense selection, as well as the valuable comments of the judges and teachers, which further improved the students' projects. It is believed that with long-term unremitting efforts, the "innovation and entrepreneurship" work of the research group will surely achieve better results in the future and cultivate high-level innovative talents who meet the needs of the construction of an innovative country!

In the past two years, the research group has not only encouraged students to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship activities, but also increased the proportion of funding investment, and has established an interdisciplinary comprehensive research platform and R&D team integrating material synthesis, modification, testing and biological evaluation and clinical research.BMTM  research group warmly welcomes undergraduate students from biology, medicine, chemistry, materials and other fields to join!
