个人简介

Dr. Ping Song is the Associate Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Song received her Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics in Chinese academy of sciences. Then Dr. Song worked in Rice University as a postdoctoral researcher for one year and then was promoted to be a senior research scientist for four years. At the same time, Dr. Song part-time worked in NuProbe Inc as a senior research scientist and took charge in multiple projects. Dr. Song’s interesting research areas including: 1) cancer diagnosis and monitoring using PCR/qPCR/next generation sequencing/third generation sequencing; 2) early cancer detection based on biosensors; 3) DNA data storage. She has published many papers in top journals like Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Communications, Nature Protocols, Cancer Discovery, Nano Letters et al. In addition, Dr. Song focuses on commercialization of scientific and research findings. She has many Chinese patents, American patents, and international patents and some of the patents were licensed to company to be developed as kits.
