研究领域

緻密天體研究室的研究團隊，利用國際一流的地面和太空望遠鏡，以多波段（從無線電波到伽瑪射線）探討各類型的緻密天體如黑洞、中子星和白矮星，是國際上極少數能同時取得所有高能太空望遠鏡和哈伯太空望遠鏡觀測時間的團隊。最近，我們結合台灣、香港及韓國的天文學家，組織Fermi Asian Network (FAN)並利用費米伽瑪射線望遠鏡研究天體的伽瑪射線的輻射機制。過去兩年，我們已取得豐碩的研究成果並得到國際上的認同。我們更每年舉辦 FAN Workshop，除報告我們的研究成果外，更指導學生和年輕學者處理費米伽瑪射線望遠的數據。我們亦與加州理工學院和西班牙太空科學研究所有緊密的合作，以全球最好的望遠鏡並結合尖端理論來研究緻密天體。
