侯茂林，男，博士，中国农业科学院植物保护研究所研究员、水稻害虫研究组组长。1989年湖南农业大学农学学士，1998年中国科学院动物研究所理学博士。2001年至2003年在日本筑波大学从事博士后研究

研究领域

针对水稻针对害虫，开展生理生态学、行为学、环境适应性、种群和群落生态学、害虫-水稻-天敌间营养与信息互作关系以及水稻抗虫性的研究，探索水稻重大害虫的发生为害规律，揭示重大害虫种群形成和致害的生态学、生理学和分子生物学机制，发展环境友好型和资源节约型害虫种群综合治理策略和技术
