1) 金属-氧簇(含过渡金属-氧簇、稀土-氧簇和主族金属-氧簇等)、硼-氧簇及硼-锗-氧簇的设计合成、结构及性能(含磁性、发光、铁电、吸附及离子交换等)。2) 催化、二阶非线性光学材料及多孔材料等。现主要从事无机合成与材料化学研究，包括过渡金属-氧簇、主族元素-氧簇、稀土-氧簇及氧基簇单元构建的多孔材料、催化材料及二阶非线性光学材料等。
