个人简介
1969年毕业于西安军事电信工程学院通信工程系；1970年至1980年在第六机械工业部汉光机械厂从事研究设计工作；1983年在西北电讯工程学院获工学硕士学位（计算机）；1983年至1984年在西北电讯工程学院计算机系教学；1987年在中国科学院计算技术研究所获工学博士学位（计算机）；其后在中国科学院计算技术研究所从事研究工作，任助理研究员、副研究员、研究员。曾于1988年至1992年及1995年至1996年做为博士后和访问科学家在 Pennsylvania State University （美国）、University of Alberta （加拿大）、及 Massachusetts Institute of Technology （美国）工作。1995年3月至2006年4月任国家自然科学基金委员会信息科学部副主任、常务副主任。现任中国科学院计算所前瞻研究中心主任研究员
